December 2009

We would like to wish all our members past and present a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!  We will be on holiday over the Christmas and New Year period.  Submission Wrestling classes will resume on the 11th January; Judo classes will start back on the 12th January. See you all in 2010.

21st  March 2009 - Bill Leeson Attends Super Coach Session with Kosei Inoue

On the 21st March 2009 Bridge of Allan Judo Player Bill Leeson attended the Judo Scotland Super Coach event with Japanese Olympian Kosei Inoue.  Kosei is a World Class Judo Player.  His former honours include winning the gold medal in the under 100 kg class the 2000 Summer Olympics.  This under 100 kg fighter is well known for his specialty throws - Uchi Mata and Ouchi Gari.  He is widely considered by the Judo community as one of the best competitive Judokas.  His notable accomplishments include three golds at the World Championships and All Japan Championships (one of only four Judokas who has accomplished this).  You can see Kosei in action by clicking here.  This one is awesome - Click Here. Bill Leeson pictured with former Olympic and World Judo Champion Kosei Inoue If you are interested in learning judo.  Why not come along to one of our training sessions.  Click Here to see when our sessions are.  1st  February 2009 - Stuart McKay Wins Silver at the European International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champions - Lisbon, Portugal From the 31st January to the 1st February 2009 a visitor to Lisbon, Portugal might have attended the European International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships.  If you had been their you would have watched Bridge of Allan Judo clubs Senior Club Coach Stuart McKay competing and winning the silver medal in the Senior 1, Purple, Super Pesado class.  If you are interested in coming along and learning some grappling and ground fighting techniques then why not try out our submission wrestling class on Monday evening.  The class is for adults aged 16 or over.  Beginners are welcome.
